Come on out to the Galleria at Crystal Run and check out the Orange County NY “Arts Build Confidence” Student Art Celebration!

There will be over 100 pieces of artwork by high school students on display, plus a slideshow of the great work being done by our elementary school artists. Nine high schools will be performing selections from their upcoming spring musicals too. It’s going to be a great day!

This year we will be showing at 2 locations and invite the public to join us in celebrating the work of our wonderful and talented members.

Opening Reception: Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6:00-9:00PM
Photography will be displayed at Grit Works (115 Broadway, Newburgh NY)
All other works will be displayed at the Carriage House at Thornwillow Institute (7 S Lander Street, Newburgh NY)

Saturday, March 9th 7pm-9pm hosted by Martin Dominguez Ball

For those with a story to tell, β€œTell-Us – The Art of Storytelling” will be open to participants and audiences at Grit Works.

Upon arrival, participants are invited tell five-minute story or come to listen and be inspired. This event, hosted by artist Martin Dominguez Ball, will have similar to the format at WNYC’s The Moth where true stories are told first-person by the speaker without a script.

March 20th each year, marks International Day of Happiness. In response to the complex challenges faced by humankind, the United Nations created International Day of Happiness in 2012 to promote, celebrate and preserve happiness – a universal human right and goal!

Join us for International Day of Happiness, Newburgh style on Wednesday, March 20th from 4 – 7 p.m. at Safe Harbors Lobby at the Ritz and the Green Room, 107 Broadway in Newburgh. This happy event is free, open to the public and great for all ages!

Families with children are welcomed to participate with Agrisculpture artist, Amy Lewis Sweetman, who will lead an arts workshop utilizing recycled materials to create sculptures with families.

Join AGRISCULPTURE Amy for a Scavenger-Style workshop on Saturday March 23rd! Celebrating materials found in the Orange County Arts Council’s pop-up Materials Exchange – you are invited to use what you find – and explore the world of creative thinking-making under the guidance of master collager Amy Lewis Sweetman. All ages welcome!
